Making Due

Monday, the kitchen was torn out.  Tuesday all the flooring was removed.
Somehow the toilet ended up parked in front of the microwave.  So, I used it as a countertop for last nights lean cuisines.  Catherine got a kick out of it and had to take a picture.  Catherine's meal was "resting" on the bowl next to a removed can light, while mine "rested" on the tank :)
Even though the whole house is turned upside down, we are really pleased with the contractor and his workers.  They work hard and fast and clean up at the end of every day.
We had a lovely sunset, one of the most beautiful yet. It has a very calming effect, with the house is such chaos.

Yesterday, we purchased all our light fixtures and mirrors for the bathrooms.  Today we settled on the blinds we want.  That should be the end of it- at least for now.

This morning we had a beautiful full moon.

And, before the day ended we had some real progress.
Tile set in the bathroom.

They actually are moving quite fast.  The plumbing and the electrical have been roughed in and passed inspection.  They have framed the new walls and started the drywall. Tomorrow they will finish the drywall, tape it and spray the ceilings.  Monday they will  start painting. It is all good but there are a lot of lean cuisines between now and the end :)

  1. Your "toilet table" is just too funny!!! Got to have a sense of humor when you are surrounded with chaos:o))

  2. That's not my favorite table! So, I sure hope you have two bathrooms.

  3. I guess that puts a different meaning to 'canned' food. ;)
