Going out at night- for a change.

We really don't go out at night very much.  Catherine was very surprised when she learned that I purchased tickets for "The Book of Mormon" not the Saturday or Sunday  afternoon performance but prime time at 7:30 PM.  We headed off to Tampa about 4:15- good thing we left early because it was a slow go in traffic. There was also a hockey game last night.  The Sun Trust building had on it's lightning blue with lightning strikes.  Cool!
Plant Museum - University of Tampa

We had dinner at a funky little pizza place called "pizza fusion".  Great pizza and great craft beers.  After dinner, we walked down by the Tampa River walk and the new Art museum.  We have not been down there in years and it really is impressive.  They have done a nice job with the whole area.

We made our way down to the STRAZ center for the performing arts.  We enjoyed the fountains and the view of the river for a while before going in to see the show.

We really enjoyed the show.
It was great musical comedy.

Every once in a while, it is fun to go out a night!

  2. Date night! Cool! We never go anywhere after dark. Glad you did so we could enjoy it. I might have gone out if I could see the Book of Mormon. I heard it was excellent.

  3. Woo hoo! Grown-up entertainment! Isn't it funny how we get into routines - a friend and I went out last night to an event - similar feeling of how odd it felt to be going out after dark for the evening!

  4. Chalk us up as another couple that rarely goes out at night. I think it's the "old eye" syndrome :) Glad you had a great time!

  5. As I understand the "rules," this counts as a "trinket," right? Love you both, and miss you!

  8. Great night shots of Tampa. It's nice to see pictures of cities after dark as so few of us bloggers are allowed out after the sun goes down.
