We stopped by the Apollo Beach power plant to check on the manatee. It was a cold day.
I could only get pictures of their backs because they did not keep their noses out of the water very long. It was good to see them. The red tide in the area has taken a terrible toll on them this year.
We attended a birthday party for a friend. It was really fun.

We have been out to the local park to bike and have spent a lot of time walking around quail run. We are seeing lots of birds.
We saw this bittern yesterday. I have seen several Eastern Blue Birds and a Swallow tailed kite. However, today's sighting is the best so far...
We were surprised to see two youngsters. We both thought cranes only hatched one of their eggs. They are so cute...
Tomorrow we are going on a boat ride and Sunday we are going to Tarpon Springs for an Art festival and some Greek food.
The End!

Ohhhh, those Sandhill Chicks are just precious:o))
ReplyDeleteWhat cute babies!
ReplyDeleteLove the birthday cake :)
Guess I've missed something. Are you thinking of getting off of the road?
ReplyDeleteTwo chicks is good news. Hope they both make it!
Wow did you see the bittern at quail run?? That's a lot of great birds. There were two pretty native sandhills at Quail Run last year all summer. I didn't know you were thinking of permanent real estate either.
ReplyDeleteSemi-permanent for the winter
DeleteThe threat of the red tide makes me feel ill thinking about how it hurts the manatees. Such beautiful animals that are so impacted by man's thoughtlessness. :c(
ReplyDeleteCute little cranes, great pictures, must have been a real thrill to see them! :c)
Great photos of those little cranes. Good luck with the house hunting.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures and birthday parties are always good, especially when they are not counting as your own birthdays!
