Watching the dogs.... Watching the Ponies

 On Saturday, we visited Fort Desoto Park.  It has one of the very nicest beaches in the area.  However, today was all about Grace so we went to the dog beach.

 Dogs are allowed to run off leash on this beach.  I heard a young girl say as we were walking to the water " a beach.... a bunch of dogs, what could be more fun than that?".

 Fun indeed- Grace made some new friends.  We watched several of the larger dogs charge after various toys thrown in the water.  Grace did manage to get her feet wet but she mostly ran from the waves.

We all had a good time enjoying a beautiful day.  They also have a dog park with a dog wash were you can clean up fido before putting him back in the car. 

 Sunday, Catherine agreed to one of my favorite activities in the area- the horse races.  It was another beautiful
day.  Tampa Bay Downs is a really nice track.  They offer live racing December 1 through Derby Day.  Catherine brought her book to read while I focused on the horse racing.  However, after the first race she grabbed the pencil and the program and started handicapping.

We cashed a few tickets but overall lost about $14 bucks.  It was a big day for the favorites.  Even the two exactas  I hit did not pay much.  It was still a lot of fun.

We have looked at a few more houses but nothing has "spoken" to us yet.   We will look a little more this week. Today, we plan on sticking close to home and getting some chores done.
