We headed into Tampa for dinner with some friends. The weather was just perfect. We elected to sit outside. We went to Jackson's, which is right on the bay across from the convention center.
Catherine had the scallops and I had seared tuna. Both were delicious. We got there at a perfect time to enjoy the sunset over the bay.
Then, we enjoyed the lights of the city. The blue lights you see on the bridges change- blue, red, green. This was new for us. It was an "improvement" added for the RNC last year. It was fun to watch and it was a perfect evening.
The weatherman told us that Saturday and Sunday may be the very best days of the year. So, we decided we should do something special.....
We had not been to WDW in five years. When we lived here, we went several times per year. It is one of our favorite places in the world. This year, we needed to take Grace to the kennel before heading to the park. Look who was at the kennel to meet her.....
Nice - right? Actually, the Easter Bunny scared her to death. She had to sneak up on it, just to get a treat. We dropped her off and headed to Epcot. This is the 20th anniversary of the Flower and Garden Festival.
This year they have added food kiosks. They do this for the Food and Wine festival in the fall and it is really nice. You can taste lots of foods at reasonable prices. This time we got big portions, still at reasonable prices- good stuff.
They used to have a lot more displays and presentations about gardening, different ideas for planting, and variations of plants. Now they are more focused on their topiary creations.
They are really fabulous! We had a great time just walking around and enjoying the beauty. I did want to ride the reimagineered
"Fast Track". However, this is a very busy weekend at Disney. My limit on wait times is about 45 minutes and the line never got under 60. By the way , we got a really good tip from a teenager who was studying her phone as we watched a show at the Canada exhibit. There is an app for wait times at Disney. You can check the waits for all the rides in all the parks - cool beans.
We hope everyone had a Happy Easter !

Oh what fun! I think we're the only people we know who hasn't been to Disney this year :) Looks like you had a marvelous time!
ReplyDeleteWow...Easter Weekend at Disneyworld!! You are really brave souls;o)) Looks like you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to WDW, but I think I would have enjoyed the gardens.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way, and place to spend Easter Sunday! :c)
ReplyDeleteWe haven't been to WDW yet this year, now after reading your post, we'll have to move it further up our list and get there soon!
Nice picture of you both!
Disneyworld looks awesome for the gardens. That looks like a lot of fun.

ReplyDeleteDisney on Easter sounds great although the million other folks there too probably weren't so great. Go back next Jan or Feb . Wait times are better. Couldn't you get a fast track ticket for later in the day and just come back then? That's what we did.
ReplyDeleteWe waited too long. We have not been to Disney in so long we had forgotten all the "best practices"
DeleteWOW! looks like a good time was had by all.
ReplyDeleteDisney is fantastic! Haven't been there in years, love to see so much of what I remembered is there.
ReplyDeleteStarted following your site, follow back my Coachella travel blog sometime soon :)
Amy explained to us not to go on a ride that offers a FastPass without a FastPass. They let everyone in in front of you. And I have been in that line for the Fast Track for ever so long. I still envy you for going. I love Disney World.
