Friday was a day off from seminars. We got up early and headed for the Smokies. Our intention was to bike the Cades Cove 11 mile loop. When we arrived at the cove, the wind was blowing so strongly that we changed plans. We decided some hiking and waterfall looking would work just fine to get us some exercise.
We took some road side pictures of the river and falls . Then we hiked up to Laurel Falls. It is an easy paved hike. We hiked a bit past the falls, on a trail more to our liking. But as we got on top of the mountain, it got really windy. I was concerned because we had not put our awning in at the campground. So, we came home to secure the camp site. It was not nearly as windy at the campground - all was well. We had a nice afternoon visiting with rally friends at the campground. More seminars today and our final rally dinner.
Beautiful picture of the falls. That park is on my Bucket list.
