Nose Job

While we have been here in San Antonio, I have been working on fixing our girl's nose.  We gave her a bit of a bump going on to a scale in West Texas. The plastic quarter panel was cracked and I decided I could put some fiberglass on the back to hold everything in place and then fill in the crack. It was more of a process than I anticipated.  I finally got it done, primed it and painted it.  It is not perfect but it looks a lot better. Once I get the clear coat on, I think you will have to look pretty close to notice it has a boo boo.

Today, we did a little shopping with Catherine's mom.  We picked up the kids from school and then decided to make an early evening of it.  As we were leaving the subdivision, we saw this Red Shouldered Hawk hanging out on the golf course.
Cool.  There are lots of squirrels out there that would probably make an excellent supper for this guy.
We have a couple of pieces of good news. Tomorrow they are predicting 1-2 inches of much needed rain for the area - fingers crossed. Catherine's sister is scheduled for surgery 11:00 AM Wednesday.  She got pushed back because  soldiers returning from Afghanistan needed immediate attention.  She understands, but she is on her 20th day in hospital and ready to get going.  Hopefully, it will all go well.  See you down the road....

  1. Good for you, tackling that fiberglass repair job. Not many people would, but when you can save mega buck doing it yourself, it sure is the right motivation.

Hopefully Catherine's sister gets under the knife quickly so she can get back on her feet. Nice of her to be so understanding, but she needs to be at the front of the line now.

  2. I have a little fiberglass work to do too, but I think it will wait until next summer.

  4. WOW I'm impressed too. I don't think we'd try fiberglass.

20 days in the hospital. She must be just going stir crazy. Hope it gets taken care of quickly and she has an easy rehab. Glad you can be there to help. That's what this freedom is all about. Be where you need and want to be on your own time and schedule.
