One month from today, we will be "fulltimers"- yikes! We have a lot to do! This blog will probably be a bit dull for the next few weeks. We have started packing.
Yesterday, we focused on: cleaning out the freezer, sorting and packing the items from our guest bedrooms, and our clothing.
We got rid of four bags of clothes. This is much easier for me than Catherine for two reasons. First, I don't care much about clothes. Anyone who knows me at all, can attest to this. Second, I am a mess. I stain, tear, stretch and get unexplained holes in my clothes. Any kind of damage that can be inflicted on clothing, I manage to do it. Once I eliminated all damaged items from my wardrobe, I had a pretty good start on cutting back. We did pretty well. I still think we have a bit more than the RV will hold. But, I feel more confident we will get there without major trauma.
We got a nice surprise at the end the day, when our niece Sarah returned to Saint Louis for more insurance work. We took a break and had a good sushi dinner with her last night. Today - more packing ....See you down the road.
All of your getting ready for the road is interesting, so I will be back for sure. Stay safe.
ReplyDeletePlease keep posting. It helps others of us also in the process when we get stuck!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're on a roll.
ReplyDeleteNow you need a countdown clock on your blog :)
One of the things that I really look forward to in full-timing is "never having to pack and unpack the RV for a trip!!" So this is really the last great packing you will do for a long time;o)) Keep up the great job!!

I'm the same as you when it comes to clothes. Just cover up this pudgy body with some rags and I'm good to go. Not stylin' but smilin'!

We are on a similar time table - we are packing and getting ready to put the house on the market. I gotta say - I can't wait for this time of preparing to be over! It is nice to read of other folks in the same spot as us. Keep us posted! Good luck in your final peparations! See ya down the road!
ReplyDeleteWhoo Hooo for You two! One month to go.
