A Great Weekend with Friends

Friday we started our weekend by having dinner with friends at Hendels .  It is a great little restaurant and piano bar in Florissant just north of St. Louis.  Saturday morning we met more friends for breakfast.  They purchased our bbq grill and we delivered it and set it up, after they treated us to breakfast.  As we were returning from delivering the grill, our niece called and said she was through working for the day and wanted to hang out.

Great- except we were going to see "Jersey Boys" at 2:00.  A quick call-tickets available - she agreed to join us.   Off to the Fabulous Fox
We have seen some great shows here during both our "stints" in Saint Louis.  It is really a terrific place to see a show.
It was opened in 1929 by the William Fox circuit of theaters and was called "a temple of amusement."  The decor is a kick. Note the dragon with flashing eyes.
After the theater, we enjoyed dinner at The Fountain on Locust.  It is a very cool restaurant with really good food and fabulous ice cream, with homemade caramel, hot fudge, and whipped cream mmmm......

Sunday:  More eating.  Where to go for food - a state park of course. We joined our friends Todd and Sherman at the Pierre Marquette State park lodge for fried chicken "family style"  -good stuff. Then, it was off to more friends for a terrific pool party.
Memorial Day:  Happy Memorial Day everyone.  Enjoy this day in honor of all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.  We will be eating left over fried chicken, preparing for our last garage sale, and saying goodbye to Catherine's car and my spinning bike.  The house is getting empty and we getting ready :).
See you down the road....
