Sculpture Park and Ted Drews

What a gorgeous day!  It was bright, sunny and close to 80 degrees.  I jumped up early. After a quick trip to the gym and our traditional Sunday breakfast of waffles, I pressure washed the garage, front porch and deck.  We got flowers planted yesterday. So that should about do it for the house.  With chores done, we headed out to lunch.  We dined al fresco and Grace did really well       (translation -she only lunged at one kid). She is getting better all the time so we hope to find many dog friendly patios in our travels.

As I have mentioned before, one of the best things about St. Louis is lots of free things to do.  We decided to check out the

Laumeier Sculpture Park.  It is a St. Louis County park that displays over 70 works of sculpture by different artists.

This was our favorite.  It reminded us of Parc Guell in Barcelona which was designed by Antonio Gaudi.

There were a lot of different types of sculpture. Most leaned toward the more modern design.

This piece used 18 old
oil tanks and is huge.  We got a quick picture without people.  Most of the day, there were kids running all around this one.

This one is a ship with a propeller.  It acted like a weather vane and was turning back and forth in the wind.

I thought this one looked like a bunch of poodles that got stuck together.  It is a really beautiful park for the people of St. Louis to enjoy.

After our walk in the park, we decided to indulge in another great thing about St. Louis.
Ted Drewes Frozen Custard. It  is located on the old route 66 and has been serving custard since 1941. They are famous for "the concrete". They mix the custard with what ever fixins you want and then turn it upside down as they hand it to you.  They want to prove to you that it is as thick as concrete.   It was delicious.

Thanks for joining us.  See you down the road....
