Saint Patrick's Day

 Saint Louis has a large Irish population, at least on St. Paddy's day:)  A group that I have worked with for years always does a "pub" crawl on St. Paddy's.  This year we joined in the fun for a little while.






Our first stop was "The Corner Bar".  It has been in Saint Charles for a long time.  It has a three pin or "cocked Hat" bowling.  It was apparently brought to the US from Germany.

The only place that you can play in the US is..you guessed it.. The corner bar in St Charles, MO.  It uses a duck pin bowling ball and three regular bowling pins.  They rent it out for parties and provide a pinsetter to put the pins back in place after each turn. We didn't actually try it but it looked like it could be fun.

We moved on to a couple more taverns and saw people sporting lots of green shirts, hats, beads and some in full costume.  This guy was wearing his Irish on the inside.  I guess he was making sure he did not get pinched by letting his shorts stick out.

It was fun. However,  we were home tucked in our beds before the crowds got too rowdy.  
It sure is quiet at the office today..
