A Stormy End to a Stormy Year

This has not been one of my favorite years.   We had some good trips, good times with friends and are very thankful for our good health. ( Aside from tweaking my back, which is much better now)  But, it was a difficult year at work and in many ways was kind of a grind.  2010 is not going away quietly.  We had to hit the basement this afternoon for 15 minutes as a very severe storm passed over our area.  We were lucky to be just north of the really strong winds and rain. This storm produced some tornado's with fatalities in Arkansas and southwest MO.  Again, we have much to be thankful for....

We planned a nice meal at home and a quiet evening to ring in the new year.  We are having stone crab claws followed by flank steak sandwiches on ciabatta bread and a little bubbly.  I love to cook and since I have been working in the office the last couple of years I have really missed it. Catherine does a great job with it.  But one of the things I am really looking forward to is doing more cooking in the future.  We are very excited about 2011 and all it will bring for us.  I am even going to try to stay up until midnight :).  We hope it brings good things for all of you as well.
