Yellow Canary & friends

 We got some practice with the new camera while on the Big Island.  We love birds but don't know as much about them as many of you out there in the blog world... yet.

Juvenile Black Crowned Night Heron

If we incorrectly identify any of these guys, please let us know.  We took all these pictures right around the hotel property.  It was a lovely property on the Kohala coast.

Northern Cardinal

                   


We chased this Cardinal all over.  We had about ten "cardinal butt" pictures but  finally got one of his head. Although he was hiding in the grass.

Common Myna Bird

                                                   
The resorts are covered up with these myna  birds.  They kick up a racket from dawn till dusk.  They are fun to watch even if they are kind of mischievous.

Yellow Billed Cardinal

Our favorite was this yellow billed cardinal.
He is really pretty but unfortunately did not show himself a lot.  Have a great Saturday...we are watching some football by the fire.  It is a cold one here in St. Louis.
