We waited a little too long and had to scramble for a good viewing spot. There were tons of people.
The parade began at sunset and leading the way was the ladies motorcycle club or as it is more affectionately known "Dykes on Bikes" .
They have been a part of every pride parade I have ever been to or seen.
Now that we are mainstream, there are lots of new participants - mostly corporate.
That is OK, but it gives the parade a different flavor than days of old. And, it makes it a lot longer.
We did not quite make it to the end. There were lots of people and it was very hot. But, we had a great time.
HAPPY PRIDE!
Congrats! The gay pride parades are a fitting way to celebrate one of the most momentous weeks in the history of America.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun despite the heat! Love the picture of you both. Looking forward to seeing you again in Blairsville (where it's cool)
