This has been a huge project for
Habitat. It has turned out really nice.
The fireplace is not usable but we had a really nice custom screen built so that it is still a feature of the room.
The wood floors were all redone and they really are beautiful. There are some scratches and gouges but they give it great character. We did have to take down the plaster walls. They were cracked too badly to be patched.
The bathrooms and kitchen have basically been totally rebuilt and will be the "modern" aspects of the house. They have been tiled and have all new fixtures and appliances.
This house will dedicate on Monday.
Thursday, we did a lentil pour (basically the first day on a new house). I have worked with the home owner several times on other houses. I am very excited for her.
This weekend we will celebrate pride in St. Petersburg. It should be a special celebration given the marriage equality ruling earlier today.
We are keeping busy but I am ready to load up the RV and head for cooler temps.
Enjoy St Pete's Pride week. It sounds like its going to be fun and better now with the court ruling.
ReplyDeleteThere are cooler Temps coming in Blairsville. Enjoy. We won't be able to get up there until around the 16th now. :(
What a beautiful job ya'll did on that house, you certainly have showed off your talents through your hard work. I hope the new owners appreciate all the labor expended and take special care of it for years to come. :c)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky owner to have such a fabulous looking house. You'll be able to build one yourself before long if you can't do it now.
