Catching up...

Haven't written a blog post for a while, even though a lot has happened.  After the debacle with our Breeze repair, we decided to end the Diesel/Tiffin experiment.  We made a deal for a 2014 Bounder that put money back in our pocket and gives us a coach with a floor plan we like a lot better.  We will miss the great mileage and getting to fuel in the truck lanes but everything has a trade off.

We picked up the Bounder on Tuesday and then took it on a shake down cruise. We camped two days at Hillsborough River with some friends.

We rented canoes and paddled the river for a couple of hours.  Catherine will not do the sea eagle in gator land :).
It was really hot.  You can see the heron panting.

We enjoyed outdoor time in the morning, played cards, cooked good food and watched some TV. It was a lot of fun even with the excessive heat.

Friday, we drove over to Fort Wilderness for one night.  A good friend of Catherine's was there with her family.  We joined them for dinner at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

After dinner, we watched the Giraffe family have their dinner.  The youngster is 3 months old- too cute.

Saturday, we left the Bounder at Lazydays for a couple of promised repairs.  We are cautiously optimistic about it.  We really like the floor plan and feel it will suit our needs well.  We will stay here for the next few weeks in order to enjoy the St Petersburg Pride festivities this weekend and celebrate July 4 with friends.

Mid- July we are planning to go to the Georgia mountains to visit Karen and Al.  Hopefully the heat wave will break by then.

We plan on going to Texas/ New Mexico - end of August through September to spend time with family and friends.  Our friend in Texas continues to do extremely well on her oral Cancer med. We are very thankful for that.

That is about all our news. Like most folks, I get behind when we are not doing new things.

Happy Summer Solstice everyone!

  4. Sounds like you did a great deal on that Bounder to get money in your pocket on such a new rig. Hope Fleetwood treats you better than Tiffin. How long is your Bounder? We almost bought a Bounder just before we found Winnona.

  5. I think you made a great move getting the Bounder, they are a beautiful motorhome. I know our next motorhome (someday) will be a smaller, gas powered unit. Diesels are great, but much more expensive to run and maintain. We know we won't fulltime forever, so a smaller gas job will meet our future needs. Enjoy the new rig (and the money back in your pockets). :c)
