Friday I did a habitat day. I nailed baseboard all day (using the nail gun) and I was a little tired when I got home. However, I had already committed to date night. So, I got showered and rallied.
We had plans to go to downtown St. Pete to check out the Birchwood Inn. Several people told us about The Canopy, which is the rooftop lounge. We got there about 4:30. It really is nice. Great drinks and beautiful views. We had dinner in the Birch and Vine restaurant. It was also very good.
Saturday morning, we had plans to meet one of Catherine's college friends at the Saturday morning market. She and her family are living full time in their fifth wheel and are starting the journey north for the summer. They had not seen each other since college but recently reconnected via facebook. They really enjoyed seeing each other again. After the market, we went out to Lazy days to pick up a new MCD shade they had ordered for us. The sun screen portion was fraying on the edge.
We saw our first bunch of baby ducks out for a swim in the early morning. These were brand new. We wish them well.
Sunday afternoon, we had our Fabulous Females group over. It was a lot of fun.
The weather was perfect and we got to enjoy the sunset out on the patio.
I got a picture of the full moon this morning but I did not make it up in time to see the lunar eclipse. The weather guessers predicted clouds. So, I did not set my alarm and of course it turned out to be clear.
We are making progress towards hitting the road. I got the replacement shade installed yesterday. I purchased a new sewer hose today. We will start packing the RV next week.
We are both ready to travel again!

I've found that it really seldom pays to take the weather persons too seriously. They are as confused as we are. That said, the t'storms they predicted for us came to pass this morning and kept us from leaving. Good guess I say. MCD shades are terrific. Great hat on Catherine and her friend! Lovely moon and darling duckies.
ReplyDeleteIt rained on our parade and we missed the eclipse too. Maybe next time... :)
ReplyDeleteToo cold to go out for the eclipse here. ;)
ReplyDeleteLunar eclipse? What lunar eclipse? How'd I miss knowing that!!
ReplyDeleteYou sure have a nice view from your condo and it seems so handy and close to everything.
If people were meant to see eclipses, they would be scheduled for a more civilized hour!
ReplyDeleteLoved your full moon picture - love the color and the sense of volume!
I'm like Rick. I didn't know about the lunar eclipse either until I saw all the beautiful pictures. It was clear here too, so I probably would have had a good view.
ReplyDeleteNice picture of Catherine. I'm glad she connected with her old friend.
I didn't get up for the eclipse, either, but Marti did. She said it was not as good as predicted, the "Blood Moon" wasn't very red.
ReplyDeleteGood luck in your travel preps, I know how easy it is to forget something and only realize it when you're many miles down the road. ;c)
