Dolphin Play.....Catherine Runs

Yesterday was a cool and blustery day.  We ran some errands and did a few things around the house. As I sat down on the couch, I saw a dolphin jump all the way out of the water.
I grabbed the camera, but of course it did not jump again. I did manage to get a little more than a fin in this picture. They played around out there for quite a while.

We were up and at 'em early this morning.  Catherine ran her first 10K and Grace and I went along for moral support.  It was pretty darn cool when we got outside.

She started training a couple of months ago for a race that was supposed to be in St. Pete Beach.  That race got cancelled. So, we had to drive over to Oldsmar- about a 40 minute drive.  There were lots of participants and soon they were warming up.
Catherine got in starting formation about 7:30 AM- water belt on, sunglasses on...ready to run.

Grace and I watched the start then we went for a walk and got some breakfast and another cup of coffee.

About one hour and seven minutes later- here she comes....
She looked great at the finish.  Her pace was just under 11 minutes/mile.  She was really pleased with that!
We are enjoying a beautiful day.  We have some friends coming to join us for sunset and dinner.  Our company from KC comes on Monday.  We are hoping this great weather holds on for them.

  4. That's quite a pace Catherine set, good for her! I couldn't do that pace, I'd be stopping every minute for eleven minutes of oxygen... :c0
