Good News and Bad News

Good News-
I visited my mom a couple weeks ago and she is doing ok.  They have taken her off one med and she is not having any major issues.  She is getting pretty frail and does not really know anyone now but she is doing as well as we can expect.

We made a trip to Houston last week and spent five days with our friend, who is ill.  She is doing very well.  She is now on an oral medication and is experiencing few side effects.  Her last chest x-ray showed a reduction in tumor size and she is feeling much better.

We drove over to San Antonio to see Catherine's family and everyone is doing well.

We made the trip in our little fit.  Everything fits in the fit and we got 37mpg on the trip.  It only cost about $140 for the whole trip.

Bad news- the rig is still not fixed.  It has a fuel pressure leak that they can not find.  They have replaced nearly every part of the fuel system.  The techs at this shop have been working with Tiffin and International and they are all stumped.  They will replace another part today- fuel return tube- Maybe this will be the magic piece- fingers crossed.
This is what happens when a kid who grew up in a John Deere dealership buys a product with an International engine- some kind of bad karma.

We have not made any firm travel plans as all now depends on when the rig is finally fixed- we now plan to leave mid July to go - someplace cooler.
That is the update- we will go back to our regular program for a while.

More good news is that my nephew and his kids are coming to Disney next week and they will come over for a day to go to the beach.  It will be great to get to see them.

  1. Well I'm bummed too about your rig. I know it's not fun staying in the south in the hot summer. 90 degrees here today. I've always wondered about the Tiffin folks who seem to be constantly going back to Red Bay. Wonder if you would have a better chance if you had been able to do that.

  2. I guess it's really a good thing that you have a place to live while they work on the rig. Hope the mystery is solved soon.

  3. It reminds us of when they couldn't find our battery problem...just so frustrating. Then when they find it, you just wonder why it took so long!!!

Hope you get to salvage some summer travels....
