Sigh…….

So far -no good.  We have been in the shop a week and 1/2.  We got a new fuel pump and some other part that took forever (something to balance fuel pressure)  and now a fuel line is leaking. So, we are waiting for a new one of those to come in. The shop works on big over the road trucks and it is clear our RV is not a big priority for them- warranty work, not a repeat customer- you know the drill.  I get it, but it annoys me.  We had a farm equipment dealership and never wanted to see the guy with the John Deere Lawnmower coming in for service- but we always did our best to get them taken care of in short order. The latest guess is that we should be done Friday-making it two full weeks.

On bright side, the weather here has been fantastic.  We enjoyed some beach time and today we went to the Dali Museum to see a special exhibit on Da Vinci and his influence on Dali.

Like all the exhibits they have it was well done.

Since we were not getting anywhere on the RV, I made arrangements to fly out and visit my mother Sunday-Tuesday.  Hopefully when I get home we can get on the road.  We are anxious to get going.
It is hard not to be frustrated. However, today I learned that one of my former colleagues had passed away at 49.  So.. our problems need to be kept in perspective.

We did get a glimpse of the rare Dali bird outside the museum -notice his mustache  :)

  1. Breakdowns happen. We wait, and repairs are made. We move on. Death cannot be fixed. 49 years are not enough.

  2. Well, we hope you get fixed up and on your way by Friday. In the mean time, safe travels to visit Mom.

  3. Sorry for your delay, but you're right. It's all perspective and 49 is WAY too young! Travel safely...once you get going :)

  4. Oh my, 49. So young. Life is so short. Seems to me your rig shouldn't have all these troubles and having to wait so long to get them fixed only compounds the irritation. Is it worse than Lazy Days? Safe travels in the air and on the ground.

  5. Part of RV life is waiting for repairs. You are right that truck shops give priority to truckers over RVers. We've had to wait a few times, too. Hope all the parts come in quickly so you can roll. Right now, we're in Hudson, FL waiting for our window to be repaired. Thankfully, we have an electric hookup so we're comfortable.
