Friday, Dec 26- We started the day at the Briscoe Western Art Museum. It opened October 2013 in the old San Antonio Public Library. The building which was built in 1929 has been beautifully restored. The woodwork is fantastic and the ceiling which is trimmed with "buffalo nickels" is just amazing.
The museum collection is small but nicely done. Many of the pieces are on long term loan from private collectors. We enjoyed it and it is certainly worth a visit if you are in San Antonio.
After the museum, we enjoyed a nice dinner with Catherine's family to celebrate her birthday.
Saturday, we went to see The Lion King at the Majestic Theatre. It was a good performance. As always, the costumes and puppets stole the show.
Saturday afternoon, we packed up said good-bye to Catherine's family and went out to Boerne to visit friends.
Sunday, our friends had a very nice brunch to further celebrate Catherine's birthday :)
Grace also got in on the celebration as our friends introduced her to "Beggin Strips" She learned the "Beggin" part very quickly!
It was a truly great day-good friends and football. It really does not get any better than that.
Monday, we packed up the Fit and headed for home. After two long but uneventful days on the road, we are back home.
Today, is all about unpacking, laundry and the grocery store. Tomorrow, we will celebrate the new year with more friends and football.

Love the great idea of extending the birthday. We have extended it to a week and if my birthday wasn't in December would probably extend it to a month. Happy Birthday again Catherine! And a wonderful 2015 to you both!
