A New Habitat Beginning

The home I have been working on is now complete.
I think it came out really nice.  I hope the homeowner is pleased with the result.  I worked a lot of days on this house, but I never met her.  That is kind of odd.
Today was the first day on a new home. The homeowner was there to see the beginning.  She even offered to buy us lunch, which was really nice.
This is how the house looks when it gets turned over to a habitat construction supervisor. Foundation and block walls, all plumbing roughed in and electric service live at the pole.  Today, we poured concrete in the block walls and set the hurricane straps in preparation for trusses.  However, with torrential rains yesterday the first item of business was to sweep all the water out of the house.
I only had one "oops" today.  I nailed the plywood pieces you see along the bottom of the walls to cover the holes cut for rebar inspection.  I shot a couple of nails too close to the edge and one board came off, when they filled the wall with concrete.  It was a mess, but not a terrible one.  It was my only blow out - not too bad.
They will set the trusses tomorrow and Saturday.  I don't volunteer for that because they usually have a big group.
I will be back on the job next week and we will get the process rolling to make this house a home.
