More memories as we scan our pictures- over the years we have been lucky enough to take some great vacations.

But as luck would have it, quite a few of these
have coincided with bad weather. January 1995 San Francisco- think torrential rain storms.   The day we visited Alcatraz the storms were so bad they could not let us off the ferry on to the island so we circled the island and got a narrated tour  from a former prison guard.  It was actually very good .

Washington D.C. in March 1996  - think -6 degrees.  It was spring break and the museums were so crowded you could not even step inside.  On the bright side, look at how empty the mall was! We bundled up in coats and long underwear.   We stayed outside-froze - and had the outdoor sights all to ourselves.

 How about Labor Day 1996 in New Orleans- record heat. It was hot, it was steamy but the po'boys  at Mothers were fabulous and we didn't have to wait in line long to get  beignets at Cafe Du Monde or Hurricanes at Pat O'Briens.  We saw the Preservation Hall Jazz Band - stuffed in that little room with 100 other people in the heat and humidity but the music was unbelievable.  Weather is just weather -enjoy every moment!
