The Cozy Cabin

Bass River Resort in Steelville, MO was truly fun.  We missed having our rig but the Cozy Cabin turned out to be just fine. They were equipped with a double bed, coffee maker, two burner stove, and microwave. We managed to do some cooking and  really enjoyed great meals with friends. This group is all about good food -well good food and good drink :). 

The Vodka filled watermelon did not work that well but the racquet bug zappers worked great.  Who knew killing mosquitoes could be so much fun?

The canoe trip down the Courtois ( pronounced Cot-a-way by the locals) was really fun, beautiful and mostly peaceful.   We had to push the canoe in a couple of low spots but that just added to the fun. It was a 5 hr journey with quite a few stops.  Our canoe skills were much improved by the time we reached the end.  If you are ever in this part of Missouri, grab your cooler, sun block and bug spray.  It is a great way to spend a summer day.


We did check out the RV sites.  They have some full hook up sites but not much shade for these most of the shade is for tent camping.  It is basically a level field and the weekend crowds can get a little rowdy in that area. Our  suggestion would be staying during the week if possible.
